HEAT Magazine: 'She’d present every TV show if we had our way!'

Despite being half woman, half fringe, Claudia has successfully managed to claim ownership of two of the BBC’s flagship arts programmes by the clever means of attaching ‘with Claudia Winkleman’ to their titles.   As such she can currently be heard every Friday night on BBC Radio 2 hosting The Arts Show with Claudia Winkleman, and be seen every Wednesday night on BBC1 presenting Film 2012 with Claudia Winkleman.

When not discussing the latest Hockney exhibition or chatting about Spielberg’s most recent offering Claudia loves nothing more than applying enormous amounts of eyeliner and grabbing Len Goodman for a twirl.  This had the potential to be quite awkward, so to make it less embarrassing for all concerned the BBC allowed her to present Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two for seven years.  Even the birth of her third child couldn’t tear her away from the fake tan and in 2011 Claudia co-presented the Strictly Come Dancing Results Show for the second year running. 

Claudia is a huge supporter of Comic Relief and for the last few years has been one of the main presenters for both Red Nose Day and Sport Relief.  Rather handily, in 2009, Comic Relief decided they needed more sequins and dancing in their campaign so called on Claudia’s knowledge of a ‘fleckle’ to host the first two series of Let’s Dance for Sport Relief/Comic Relief.

Having presented the Sky Premiere coverage of both the Golden Globes® and the Academy Awards® it could be easily said that Claudia loves nothing more than dancing and films.  This is true.  However over the years she has presented many other things, some on TV and some on radio.  She has also written a lot of things for the Independent.
